🫥 The Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 console is hard to find in stock
🚨 Follow Zelda Switch 2 restock tracker @mattswider on X for instant alerts
🎛️ We built a restock dashboard for our Substack subscribers with an audible siren
🎮 The Zelda-themed Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller is also being tracked in the US
🏬 Stores like Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Amazon have all had recent restocks
Everyone wants the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 console and Pro controller, and it shows: Nintendo and every store in the US are sold out this weekend. It feels impossible to find in stock.
Good news: I built a Legend of Zelda Switch 2 restock tracker for The Shortcut’s Substack paid subscribers who already enjoy our newsletter. While it’s wise to check retail stores in the US every day, this restock tracker has a distinct advantage: it runs constantly on our server and checks key US stores for restocks so you don’t have to.
🚨 Zelda Switch 2 Restock Tracker Dashboard
What’s unique about our restock tracker is that when the Zelda Switch 2 console or Pro controller comes back in stock, an audible siren goes off.
You can’t miss the Zelda Switch 2 restock if your browser’s sound is actually on and the add-to-cart button actually means it’s in stock. On Friday, Target had a restock, and only a few people could actually check out with their Zelda console – but those few got my alert bright and early.
Why the Zelda Switch 2 restock tracker works
I’ll still notify people on X when I’m awake, so that hasn’t changed. It’s still the best way to find video game and tech products in stock for free, so turn on notifications.

That said, only I have access to my X account, and as quick as I am with posts, it’s only me. We have a whole team at The Shortcut who can manually turn on a siren to notify you of a restock when it’s in play. This means we cover all time zones.
Plus, this is the same restock tracker software I used to help 400,000 people buy a PS5 restock back in 2021 and 2022. So you’re getting direct access to my restock software to nab that Zelda console – and maybe you’ll stick around for our consumer technology reviews.
It’s not just Zelda Switch 2 consoles restocking
The harder product to get right now is the Zelda Switch 2 Pro controller from Nintendo. It’s even rarer than the 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 console. There was one recent restock of the ganepad at the Nintendo Store this week, but so far it’s been silent.
The hope is that retailers like Walmart and Best Buy are building up to a major restock during Black Friday. And Nintendo, for its part, doesn’t plan to stop making special-edition Zelda-themed Switch 2 hardware after this first run that was sold alongside the Ocarina of Time remake. It’s special-edition video game hardware, not a limited edition.
Besides the Pro controller and console, we’re also tracking the PS5 Pro at The Shortcut. Although it launched two years ago with little fanfare, Sony has made better use of its souped-up PlayStation 5 with recent game launches and patches.
Why is PS5 Pro in such hot demand, too? Well, there’s no bigger game launch than GTA 6 on November 19, though I’m sure a few Zelda fans might disagree with that statement.
