🆓 Ubisoft includes a selection of its classic titles as part of PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra
Ubisoft+, the publisher’s subscription service that offers access to over 100 Ubisoft titles, could soon be on the way to Xbox consoles.
Spotted by VGC, a user that scrapes Xbox’s backend reportedly found a Ubisoft+ logo, suggesting an announcement may be imminent.
Ubisoft+ is currently only available on PC, Stadia, and Amazon Luna and costs $14.99 per month. The service launched in 2019 and gives subscribers day one access to Ubisoft’s newest titles and DLC at launch.
Ubisoft+ also has a downloadable library of classic games, which are included as part of PlayStation Plus Premium and PlayStation Plus Extra.
In a blog post on Ubisoft’s website, Chris Early, Ubisoft’s senior vice president of partnerships, said:
“With Ubisoft+ Classics, we’re providing PlayStation players with another way to enjoy Ubisoft games on their consoles. This is just the beginning, as we will ultimately make Ubisoft+ available to PlayStation owners as we continue to build our vision and provide players with more options to access their favorite games, wherever they are.”
A similar deal could likely be struck with Microsoft, adding the classic games portion of Ubisoft+ to Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Microsoft’s highest subscription tier includes EA’s subscription service, EA Play, at no extra charge, but the fact Ubisoft+ costs the same as Game Pass Ultimate ($14.99) means we’ll probably just get Ubisoft+ Classics, like with PlayStation Plus Premium.
A long time coming
We already knew Ubisoft+ was coming to Xbox Series X|S consoles. The French publisher announced in January that the subscription service would be heading to Xbox in the future, but no date was given.

In a blog post that marked the launch of Rainbow Six Extraction on Xbox Game Pass, Chris Early said:
“Rainbow Six Extraction for Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass members is just the beginning. Ultimately, we will offer the Ubisoft+ subscription service to Xbox owners so that they can enjoy the full extent of our Ubisoft+ game library, including new releases, on their consoles.”
Could we get an official announcement at Gamescom 2022? We’ll keep our eyes peeled.
In other Game Pass news, PS5 hit Death Stranding is officially coming to PC Game Pass, along with 5 classic Bethesda and id Software games. Microsoft is also testing a new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate family plan, which lets four people enjoy the benefits of Game Pass for $24.99.
