A new trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will soon swing into view, giving us a fresh look at the upcoming animated movie.
Sony is set to drop the trailer on YouTube at 12pm ET / 9am PT, which will hopefully offer a more substantial look at Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse than the very trailer we got last year. You can watch it right down below using the embedded link.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse release date is June 2, 2023, having been delayed from its original date of October 7, 2022. Since then, it’s also been split into two halves, with the second expected to hit cinemas on March 29, 2024.
So far, we know the movie will return focus to Miles Morales, and feature a lot more Gwen Stacey (or Spider-Woman). It looks like it’ll also involve lots of interdimensional hopping – as you’d expect from the series – as well as a new villain called The Spot.
"The Spot is an interesting villain because he seems like a joke, but when you really look at his powers, there’s incredible potential,” Across the Spider-Verse co-director Kemp Powers told Total Film, via GamesRadar. “His ability to open portals across dimensions sets him up perfectly for the Spider-Verse.
"He’s the villain of the next two films… and let’s just say that The Spot and Miles are connected in surprising ways."
Powers added: "After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man [Morales] is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.
“But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most."
