No, the Resident Evil 4 remake isn’t a PS5 exclusive
The RE4 remake is also coming to Xbox Series X|S
Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake isn’t a PS5 exclusive, despite a new gameplay trailer suggesting as much during Sony’s State of Play June 2022 event.
It’s easy to see why you might think the RE4 remake is a PS5 exclusive. An accompanying PlayStation Blog announcement makes no mention of other platforms other than PS5, and the new trailer that was shown during Sony’s State of Play event only included the PlayStation 5 logo.
However, the RE4 remake is also coming to other platforms. Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 website confirms that the game will be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
That’s a relief for those who own Microsoft’s new Xbox consoles, as both the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 came to Xbox One. It’d be a shame if the most remarkable entry in the series didn’t make its way to Xbox, then, but thankfully that’s not the case.
However, one advantage the PS5 version has over the other platforms is PSVR 2 support. The game will include some PlayStation VR 2 content, which could give Sony’s version the edge if you plan on picking up the new virtual reality headset when it releases.

Capcom also announced that Resident Evil Village is getting a VR makeover, similar to how Resident Evil 7 received PlayStation VR support. If you thought Ethan Winters’ haunting adventure was scary before, we can only imagine how terrifying the whole thing will be in VR.
One other Capcom game that was tipped to be a PS5 exclusive is Street Fighter 6. The game was also shown during June 2’s State of Play event, but it turns out the long-running franchise is also coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS4. Street Fighter 5 was exclusive to PS4 and PC, so it was unclear whether this exclusivity deal would continue for Street Fighter 6.
Curiously, Street Fighter 6 isn’t coming to Xbox One: only the Xbox Series X|S. Why that’s the case isn’t clear, but if the game is coming to PS4, it’s not like it’s a technical issue that is preventing it from coming to Xbox One…
Resident Evil 4 will release on March 24, 2023, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, while Street Fighter 6 is scheduled to release on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC sometime in 2023.
