Kanye West has been suspended from Twitter once again after his account was only recently reinstated. The rapper, who legally goes by Ye these days, was suspended after posting an image of a swastika inside the Star of David to the social media platform.
Ye was previously suspended for posting anti-Semitic remarks, and Instagram has also restricted access to the artist’s account following an exchange with rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, where Ye accused Combs of being controlled by Jewish people.
Elon Musk confirmed that Kanye West’s Twitter account had been suspended for incitement to violence. Some users speculated Ye was suspended for sharing an unflattering picture of Musk on holiday, but Musk clarified that wasn’t the case.
It appears that Ye’s suspension will be permanent, as Musk said “I tried my best”, referring to how he reactivated West’s account in the face of thousands of objectors.
“Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence”, Musk said on Twitter. “Account will be suspended.”
Ye’s tweet comes shortly after the rapper made a frankly disturbing appearance on Sandy Hook conspiracist Alex Jones’s Infowars show. Wearing a black mask that covered his whole head, Ye made some outlandish claims and went on what can only be described as an unhinged anti-Semitic rant.
While I won’t reshare any of the comments Ye made on Jones’s program, at one point the ‘Through the Wire’ singer praised Adolf Hitler and even called himself a Nazi.
Kanye West had also agreed to buy Parler. However, Parlement Technologies, the parent company of Parler, quietly announced that Ye will no longer be purchasing the platform. The announcement was made shortly after Ye’s Infowars appearance.
It’s been hard to watch the once-beloved rapper slowly sink into the world of conspiracies and repeatedly air racist views. Ye recently shared that he has bipolar disorder and can often have manic episodes. That certainly isn’t an excuse for his deplorable behavior, but it’s hard not to worry about Ye’s overall well-being when you watch some of the Infowars clips that are circulating on Twitter.
The rapper divorced Kim Kardashian on March 2, 2022. The couple had four kids together.
Elon Musk recently unbanned some other controversial Twitter accounts, and also reinstated Donald Trump after holding a poll. The 45th president of the United States has yet to tweet since his account was reactivated, but has 87.8 million followers as of writing. Trump was spotted hosting Ye at Mar-a-Lago last week.
