➡️ The Shortcut Skinny: God of War controller pre-order
🙅♂️ God of War Ragnarok controller pre-orders are sold out at most US stores
🛑 GameStop, however, still has the limited-edition PS5 DualSense in stock
🤷♂️ Best Buy, Target, Walmart and Amazon all sold out within a few minutes
💰 The God of War Ragnarok controller price is $74.99
There’s good news about the God of War Ragnarok controller pre-order if you didn’t happen to purchase the limited-edition PS5 DualSense yesterday when it first went on sale. There’s one store that still has the special controller in stock today, and it’s the same store that often has long-lasting PS5 restock events.
GameStop has God of War Ragnarok controller pre-orders for $74.99, which is the standard price of most of the other standard PS5 controller colors. Sony didn’t mark up the price, even though it’s a limited-edition design with some God of War-themed decals and a two-tone paint job. Of course, that meant the soon-to-be-rare controller is sold out almost everywhere else in the US. It launches on November 9 along with the new God of War game.
God of War controller pre-order situation
Best Buy was the last to have the God of War controller in stock, and it sold out within three minutes. So it’s curious as to why GameStop is still able to take pre-orders for the item. Walmart and Amazon had the Sony controller in stock for about 30 minutes (though it went in and out of stock multiple times). This may mean that we’ll see another wave of Best Buy God of War Ragnarok pre-orders closer to the game launch.
Where else will we see the controller in stock? Antonline is one of the few retailers in the US that hasn’t stocked the God of War Ragnarok controller at all. There’s always hope at that store if GameStop does sell out of the gamepad. Note that Antonline usually sells difficult-to-buy items in bundles, so we’ll see if that’s the case this time.
This isn’t the only special PS5 controller that’s coming from Sony this year. It’ll also debut its first official “pro” controller soon, the PS5 DualSense Edge (though finding it in stock should be easier as it’s not meant to be a limited-edition controller). This ultra-customizable controller will let you change the stick caps, back buttons, and deactivate specific buttons. That said, expect the PS5 DualSense Edge price to be way more than the $74.99 God of War Ragnarok controller.
Both controllers should be added to our best PS5 accessories to pair with the best PS5 games soon, but do make room in your budget for the PSVR 2 pre-order date. It’s not exactly a controller, but it comes with orb-shaped PlayStation VR 2 Sense controllers that will change up the way you PS5 games.
Sony also came out with a PS5 Gray Camo controller this month
