Elon Musk owns Twitter in a $44 billion deal announced today that will take the social media platform private. Musk intends to bring new features (like a Twitter edit button), censor users less, fight spambots and provide insight into Twitter’s algorithm.
“Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated,” Musk said in an official press release announcing the $44 billion deal.
