Update: Death Stranding is officially coming to PC Game Pass
Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding is heading to PC Game Pass, Microsoft confirms
Update: Microsoft has confirmed that Death Stranding is coming to PC Game Pass on August 23. The PC Game Pass Twitter account has been not so subtly teasing that Hideo Kojima’s open-world epic was on the way, and we now have official confirmation.
Death Stranding on PC supports ultrawide displays, has a photo mode, a high frame rate, and includes cross-over content from well-known franchises.

📦 Death Stranding might be coming to PC Game Pass

🕵️ Fans quickly made the connection and deduced that Death Stranding is coming to PC Game Pass soon
🕔 Death Stranding was first released on PS5 but later came to PC
Original: Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding appears to be coming to PC Game Pass, Microsoft’s subscription service that’s available separately or as part of an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.
The PC Game Pass Twitter account changed its profile picture to a landscape image that looks incredibly similar to an in-game location in Death Stranding, one of the best PS5 games, saying, “sometimes we just like a good landscape picture.”
Fans quickly determined that the new profile picture was lifted straight out of Hideo Kojima’s delivery service sim, with a user overlapping the two images to provide almost definitive proof that the landscape is from Death Stranding’s post-apocalyptic world.
Unlike on PS5, Death Stranding is published by 505 Games on PC. It means that there’s a chance we could see The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus on Microsoft’s service, but Sony likely has exclusivity rights when it comes to consoles, keeping the game off Xbox Series X|S.
Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is available to download on Sony’s new revamped PlayStation Plus Premium and PS Plus Extra (check out the complete PlayStation Plus Premium games list). If you haven’t played it yet, or have simply been curious about the polarizing game in the past, it’s well worth trying. It definitely won’t be for everyone, but it’s at least a unique concept.
Norman Reedus, who plays Sam Porter Bridges in the game, seemingly confirmed that a Death Stranding sequel is in the works. Speaking with Leo in a recent interview, Reedus let slip that “we just started the second one” about Death Stranding. He continued, “…it just won all these awards, and it was a huge thing, so we just started part two of that.”
Hideo Kojima, the man behind the sublime Metal Gear Solid series, appeared to respond to Reedus’s slip of the tongue with a somewhat cryptic tweet.
It’s unclear whether Death Stranding 2 will be exclusive to PS5, but we know Hideo Kojima is working on a game that taps into the power of the cloud specifically for Xbox Series X|S. Kojima announced the new project at Microsoft’s Xbox + Bethesda Showcase, which was part of Summer Game Fest 2022.

So unique, play it once and you'll recognize any screenshot. If accurate, the profile pic is from the first map, looking west up the ridge separating Capital Knot from the Waystation.
But if Sony is still sour grapes over Game Pass -- wait, I wonder if they paid 505 'blocking support' to delay its debut ... and now XBGP is like, "block lifted, new profile pic!"
