🛍️ Apple Watch 8 pre-order time: September 9
📆 Apple Watch 8 release date: September 16, as predicted
The Apple Watch 8 launch event took place on September 7, and we now have a solid release date for Apple’s new device and the prices.
Like the iPhone 14 release date, the Apple Watch 8 will be in your hands (or on your wrist) Friday, September 16, a date that was also mentioned by Apple leaks expert Mark Gurman.
The same reliable Bloomberg reporter previously suggested that the Apple Watch 8 will come with a temperature sensor, which it does, and his prediction that the device wouldn’t include blood sugar and blood pressure monitors also proved to be correct. Apple is allegedly testing these features, but it looks like we’ll have to wait for the Apple Watch 9 to see them.
We’re getting three Apple Watch 8 models this time, including a new Apple Watch SE and the Apple Watch Ultra, “the most rugged and capable Apple Watch ever,” according to Apple.
Apple Watch 8: price, release date, and specs
The Apple Watch 8 release date is September 16, and two versions are available: the Apple Watch Series 8 with GPS and the Apple Watch Series 8 with GPS + Celluar.
The GPS version of the Apple Watch 8 costs $399, while the GPS + Celluar model costs $499. That’s the same starting price as last year’s Series 7 models.
But is the Apple Watch 8 worth the upgrade? The new wearable includes a new Low Power Mode that can significantly increase the Apple Watch 8’s battery life from 18 to 36 hours, according to Apple. It’s also got improved workout tracking, crash detection (in case you’re even in a vehicle collision), and plenty of new watch faces and bands. The Apple Watch 8 can also track your cycle and provide ovulation estimates using the device’s new temperature sensor.
The Apple Watch colors include Midnight, Starlight, Silver, and Product red for the aluminum model. Silver, Gold, and Graphite for stainless steel.
Apple Watch 8 SE: price, release date, and specs
The Apple Watch SE release date is the same as the Apple Watch Series 8: September 16. The price is $249 for the GPS model and $299 for the GPS + Celluar version.
The Apple Watch SE is 20% faster than the original and has a 30% bigger display than the Series 3. It has crash detection, fall detection, and color-matched back cases. As you’d expect, there are also new watch faces to choose from and different bands.
Apple Watch Ultra: price, release date, and specs
The Apple Watch Ultra was perhaps the biggest surprise at Apple’s ‘Far Out’ event. The high-end, explorer-focused smartwatch is packed with features, like a 2000 nits display, a compass, pro running features, a depth gauge, a customizable action button, and so much more. It’s designed for those who love to be outdoors, regardless of the weather or the conditions.
In terms of pricing, the Apple Watch Ultra costs $799 for the GPS + Celluar model, which is less than the rumored $999 that many had tipped it to be. The Apple Watch Ultra goes on sale on September 23 and is available to pre-order now.
