The $10 Amazon Prime Day credit
If you’re a Prime member, the $10 free credit is a no-brainer. It requires you to complete four actions by July 13 (the day Amazon Prime Day ends):
Make a Prime-eligible purchase
Stream a show on Prime Video
Listen to a song with Prime Music
Borrow an eBook on Prime Reading
Amazon has had similar deals in the past, encouraging people to shop at Whole Foods. I haven’t seen a $10 Whole Foods discount as part of Prime Day 2022, but I’ll keep looking out for freebies as Amazon launches them this year.
Prime Day price drops expected
While not on sale right now, I have told friends (in need of a mesh WiFi system) to wait for July 12 and July 13 to purchase an Amazon eero. Basically, anything that Amazon makes or owns (Ring, eero, Kindle, Fire TV, Fire Tablet and of course Echo) that isn’t on sale today, June 25, wait about two weeks.
More Amazon Prime Day to come
Most of these early Prime Day deals are good to buy right now, however, I expect the Amazon Echo Show 5 discount to be better come Prime Day. $5 off MSRP really isn’t enough when we know that Amazon Alexa-powered devices get their cheapest during Amazon Prime Day, and Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Amazon Prime Day date
Prime Day starts Tuesday, July 12
Prime Day ends Wednesday, July 13
It’ll be a 48-hour sales marathon
Prime Day begins on July 12, but you’ll want to pay attention all that week, as Amazon tends to launch a few Prime deals early, namely for its own Amazon devices like the Echo and Fire TV. In fact, we see some items already on sale today, June 22, so check out those deals below.
What time is Amazon Prime Day 2022?
The official Amazon Prime Day time is 12pm PT / 3am ET on Tuesday, July 12 at the stroke of midnight (on the West Coast of the United States where Amazon is located). That’s unfortunate for everyone on the East coast of the US.
That means you’ll want to be up on Monday night to capture the first Prime Day deals offered by the annual 48-hour Amazon shopping period. It’s another two-day event so the deals will come to a close on July 13 at the very end of the day. Night owls have the advantage here. However, in the past, I’ve seen deals go live as soon as Sunday on Amazon devices (and some early Amazon Prime Day deals show a few Kindle and eero devices at a discount already).
When will Prime Day deals go live?
Not all Amazon Prime Day deals go live right at the midnight start time. We often see the best deals offered for an hour (or less if they sell out), especially when they’re known as Lightning deals. These are the biggest discounts sold during Prime Day, so you’ll want to stay aware of newly launching deals for the entire 48-hour period.
