We’ve rounded up every PS5 game with ray tracing support in 2026, so look no further. The PS5 is a powerful console that supports cutting-edge graphical features such as ray tracing and 120Hz refresh rates, which wasn’t possible on the PS4 or PS4 Pro.

If you're new to ray tracing, the easiest way to understand what the tech does is that it essentially helps make games look even more realistic. It allows developers to incorporate real-time lighting, reflections, and shadows into games that closely resemble what you’d expect to see in real life, making virtual worlds look all the more convincing.

However, the vast majority of PS5 games don’t include any ray tracing support. Of all the titles on our best PS5 games list, only six PlayStation 5 games support ray tracing in various forms.

The list of PS5 games with ray tracing is slim, then. But it’s been gradually growing over time. It doesn’t mean that ray tracing isn’t worthwhile – it just requires a lot of processing power and is not currently a priority for some developers to implement.

We’ve seen some games receive ray tracing support many months after launch, like Elden Ring, but it isn’t a guarantee, and how ray tracing is used also varies. Sometimes a game will only include ray-traced shadows or reflections with little impact on the overall look of a title. 

Again, ray tracing is very demanding on the PS5's hardware, so it's usually used sparingly. Sony's PS5 Pro significantly impacts how developers handle ray tracing. The console's added power enables faster ray tracing, improved performance, and allows more games to use the technology. Expect the list below to grow substantially with new PS5 Pro enhanced games.

If you’re not interested in ray tracing and would rather play games at a higher frame rate – which is my preference – our PS5 120fps games and Xbox Series X 120fps games list every title that supports 120Hz.

PS5 games with ray tracing

Unfortunately, not all PS5 games support ray tracing. The majority of PlayStation 5 games don't include the technology because it significantly reduces performance. Those that do support the feature rarely run at 60fps as a result, which means you can usually expect a drop in resolution and frame rate to 30fps if you want to enjoy the extra graphical fidelity ray tracing can provide. Gran Turismo 7 only features ray tracing in replays, for example.

There are exceptions, however. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Spider-Man 2, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart all include an RT Performance mode that gives you the best of both worlds.

While we may see more games supporting ray tracing in the future, it's unlikely to become a standard feature in every release. Even on PC, where the hardware is far more capable and mature, ray tracing support isn’t guaranteed.

Ray tracing can also appear in various forms, such as reflections, lighting, or shadows, but it’s rare to see all three implemented at once, especially on consoles.

What is ray tracing?

Ray tracing is a new technique that simulates how light behaves in the real world and calculates how light reflects, refracts, and interacts with objects and materials. This can have a significant impact on the visual quality of games, as ray tracing includes various features such as reflections, shadows, and lighting, all of which contribute to creating a more realistic gaming experience.

Developers no longer have to spend hours "baking" lighting or reflections into a scene, as ray tracing offers a more dynamic and realistic solution. The main issue with ray tracing, especially on consoles, is that it requires a lot of computing power. The majority of games that do support ray tracing on the PS5 will often reduce the game's resolution and halve the frame rate to compensate for the performance impact. However, the PS5 Pro promises to change that.

It’s fair to say that ray tracing is the future, but it requires powerful hardware to get the most out of it. With that in mind, most PS5 games will not support ray tracing, even if developers find a way to balance performance in the future. You’ll need to pay $899.99 for a PS5 Pro if you want to enjoy the benefits of ray tracing without the compromises.

Xbox fans have been patiently waiting for Microsoft to reveal the release date and price of its upcoming Xbox Series X25 limited edition console and controller – but we finally have a better idea of what to expect.

According to trusted leaker billbil-kun from Dealabs, the Xbox X25 controller release date is scheduled for October 20, 2026. It’s likely an announcement will take place during Gamescom 2026, which takes place from August 20 to August 30.

The price is also what we’ve come to expect from limited edition Xbox wireless controllers. It will cost $79.99, and pre-orders will open on August 26, 2026.

The Xbox X25 controller is bound to be popular, as it features the translucent “OG Green” design inspired by the original 2001 console. There’s also a nice Xbox 25 logo on the right-hand grip.

We should also hear about the Xbox Series X25 limited edition console during Gamescom, too. It’s likely the console will cost between $699.99 and $749.99 now that the new price rises are in effect. A release date of October 20, 2026, would also make sense to tie in with the release of the controller.

However, with market conditions continuing to be turbulent, Microsoft may be holding off making any announcement until it can guarantee it doesn’t have to raise the price of the Xbox Series X25 again.

Rockstar Games is fighting yet more GTA 6 leaks today, as the same group that already shared gameplay videos of Grand Theft Auto 6 have now released more footage that raises new concerns.

Previously, it seemed like the leakers had gotten hold of gameplay footage and simply shared it. However, a new video shows Jason, one of the protagonists, shooting the word “LEEK” into a wall.

This suggests that the leakers have access to a build of the game, which is far more worrying for Rockstar than simply having sections of the game shown ahead of its November 19 release date.

It’s unclear whether the footage is from an old or current build of GTA 6, but regardless, it’s hardly ideal for Rockstar Games and publisher Take-Two. We’re due to get an extended look at GTA 6 on August 27, 2026, with the third trailer for the game airing exclusively on Netflix. The trailer will come to YouTube a few hours later.

The new GTA 6 leak is the fifth video shared by the group CyberLeek, who claim the leaks are in response to Grand Theft Auto 6 releasing without a disc and instead comes as a download code in a box.

Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has issued a statement regarding the leaks, as they continue to scramble to take down the videos as quickly as possible.

Expect more GTA 6 leaks in the coming days, as it seems like the group aren’t letting up and seemingly have a build where they can show plenty more footage ahead of the game’s release.

Valve is still keeping the Steam Frame release date and price under wraps, but that hasn’t stopped practically every video the company has made leaking ahead of time.

Videos of unboxing the Steam Frame, how to sign in, and even how to equip the ergonomic kit have appeared, showing every detail about Valve’s VR headset. There are eight videos in total, which shows that – despite the ongoing radio silence – Valve is well prepared to launch its headset at any time.

The videos were accidentally published in an ARM Steam Client update on August 19, and were shared by users before some of them were removed.

Perhaps the most interesting video in the batch is the one that shows the Steam Frame’s interpupillary distance wheel. It features a clever sliding lock so you don’t have to calibrate the IPD every time you play.

Valve has also created an extended light blocker for those with small noses, and there are plenty of other comfort tweaks to ensure the Steam Frame fits every face and head shape out there.

With these video leaks, and after the Steam Frame startup screen leaked, it feels like a matter of when, not if, Valve will share the Steam Frame release date and price. The next key date we’re eyeing up is August 24, which is Valve’s 30th anniversary. It feels like a fitting date to launch the company’s last piece of hardware, and clearly Valve is ready to go.

There have been several shipments of the Steam Frame to Valve’s warehouses, and its new ‘Great on Frame’ Steam category has continued to grow, with more games receiving verification each day.

Unfortunately, the Steam Frame price is tipped to be higher than expected, especially as the Steam Machine launched for over $1,000. Qualcomm, which manufactures the chip inside the Steam Frame, also announced it would raise prices. With the memory crisis seemingly unabating, all signs point to a four-figure price tag for the Steam Frame.

Unsurprisingly, the most expensive item in Sony’s Wolverine Limited Edition is still up for sale. It costs $649.99, which is $50 more than the standard Digital Edition. However, you’re saving on the controller and covers, which cost $84.99 and $74.99 when purchased separately.

The PS5 Digital Edition is also likely still in stock as people likely already have a PlayStation 5 sitting at home, so picking up a controller or the cover plates makes more sense.

Google made its best folding phone ever with the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, and while it might not be the flashiest or most exciting foldable we’ll see this year, this $1,900 device deserves some love.

It looks a lot like the Pixel 10 Pro Fold from last year, save for some new colors and a rearranged camera system to fit a better main camera and HiLight (Google’s color LED that comes to life when you summon Gemini). It skips the wider format that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 adopted, and the price did go up by $100 compared to last year’s device.

But that doesn’t change the fact that this is a great phone. We were expecting to be underwhelmed with the upgrades Google made when we went hands-on with the phone for the first time, but after getting to review it, I have a whole new outlook on it. Not only are the upgrades welcome, but its ability to keep up with the competition (and surpass it in important ways) makes the $100 price jump a lot easier to digest.

With its sharp displays, great cameras, handy software features, and Pixelsnap, this folding phone is worthy of your attention. It can go toe-to-toe with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, all while still costing $200 less. It’s a compelling package that’s great as someone’s first foldable to help ease them into the experience, or for someone who wants truly helpful AI in the palm of their hand.

✍️ Review notes

📐 Refinement is the name of the game. Google barely changed the design of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, making it almost a millimeter thinner and shaving off a few grams to make it feel a bit more refined. Compared to the 10 Pro Fold, it does feel less brick-like, but it’s still not quite as thin or light as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. That’s fine in my book; the phone might not be the most stunning piece of jewelry in the case, but it still looks good and is perfectly functional. The fact it’s a bit lighter and thinner now is even better.

🎨 Colors are nice, but not as flashy. I love the Olive color that my review unit came in, but if you’re looking for the same vibrant hues of the other Pixel 11 Pro phones, you’ll be surprised that the only other finish the Fold comes in is Obsidian. There’s no Canyon or Fog here, and certainly nothing as vibrant as the Hibiscus Pixel 11. It’s a shame that Google only ever sells its foldables in two colors, but at least the green one looks good.

📱 Gorgeous screens that are brighter than ever. The 6.5-inch and 8-inch Super Actua AMOLED displays are as pretty as ever - and they’re even brighter than ever, too. Google boosted the brightness to 3,600 nits on each, an increase of 300 nits, which helps to see the screens more easily in direct sunlight. I took the Pixel 11 Pro Fold to the beach this past weekend and could see both displays perfectly fine in the summer sun. The screens are also colorful and vibrant without being oversaturated. From reading e-books to watching movies to playing games, you’ll love doing everything on these displays.

🤳 It feels normal when it’s closed. This is an important distinction in this day and age of folding phones. When the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is closed, it feels like you’re using a regular brick-shaped smartphone. It’s not nearly as radical as the passport-shaped cover screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and it isn’t as narrow as the Z Fold 8 Ultra. It sits in between and feels as natural as any normal phone feels to use. If that’s something you value, you should strongly consider the 11 Pro Fold. It’s something you won’t find on most folding phones this year, save for the Moto Razr Fold.

🤷‍♂️ I never used HiLight. Google’s flashiest new feature on the Pixel 11 Pro series is called HiLight. It’s a little LED orb in the camera cluster that lights up when you summon Gemini, or if you get a phone call from one of your favorite contacts. But I never found an instance where I actually used it. I don’t keep my phone face-down on a table when I’m not using it, and when I did to use HiLight, I flipped it back over and kept the screen up. It’s also extremely limited in its functionality; the fact you can only see it light up if you talk to Gemini or if you get a call from someone feels like a missed opportunity to make it more useful. In the end, HiLight felt more like a gimmick to me than anything else.

📸 Photos and videos look a lot better… Google finally upgraded the camera hardware on the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, and it has a big advantage over the 10 Pro Fold: it lets in way more light. The new 48MP f/17 main camera has 56% better light sensitivity, which not only makes nighttime pictures look better, but it also helps balance out daytime photos by picking up more details in shadows. The result is a camera that is noticeably better than the previous generation and sparks a serious conversation as to whether it’s the best camera on a foldable. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra’s 200MP lens may offer more megapixels, but it can’t match the quality of what you get on the Pixel.

❌ … but only for the main camera. That’s where the upgrades come to a halt. The 10.5MP ultra-wide and 10.8MP telephoto cameras are the same as last year, letting in less light and detail than the main sensor by a bigger margin than ever before. You get 30x zoom this time around, which is nice, but you’ll want to stick to 5x optical zoom if you don’t want your pictures to look too overprocessed. At night, neither camera can match the quality of the main shooter, making them feel more like utility cameras when you need to punch out or zoom in to capture a scene, not necessarily a lasting memory. The twin 10MP selfie cameras are the same, too, and they’re good enough for daytime selfies but not as much at night.

🎥 Video quality gets a boost. The main camera is also better at recording video, which has seen a noticeable improvement compared to previous Pixel phones. Switching between lenses is smoother than before, and there seems to be less fragmentation around sharp edges in the frame. While the Pixel 11 Pro Fold isn’t on par with, say, the iPhone 17 Pro Max in the video department, the 4K 60fps clips I captured were more than serviceable for Instagram and TikTok.

🪄 Magic Capture makes hands-free capturing even better. Google’s smart camera features always impress us, and this year, Magic Capture stole the show. Switch to the mode in the Camera app, and the phone will lean on Gemini to record a video of a scene, then capture photos of all the best moments. It looks for the best framing, action, and facial reactions during the clip and saves them to your Photos app. This is incredibly handy when using the Pixel 11 Pro Fold in its tripod mode, where you prop the phone up halfway. You can press the button and take all the hands-free pictures you want, and it’s even better that you’re not dependent on burst mode and a timer to get the picture you want.

🤖 Gemini Intelligence feels like a superpower. The experience using the Pixel 11 Pro Fold goes beyond Android 17 thanks to Gemini Intelligence. It’s Google’s suite of on-device AI features that take Gemini’s smarts to a new level. It can see what’s on your screen, what you’re talking about with your friends, which emails you send, what your favorite coffee order is, and more (so long as you give it permission). From there, Gemini can show proactive prompts to make finding information easier, like checking your calendar if you tell someone you think you’re free on Saturday. 🦾 Helpful AI feels so refreshing. Whether you dive head-first into using all of the AI features on the latest Pixels or just pick and choose a few to lean on, it all feels refreshingly useful to use. I love it when Gemini can proactively find a flight number for my trip to IFA when I’m sending an email, and someone asks for it for scheduling, or when I get too many notifications, and it highlights the only ones I’ll actually care about. Circle to Search remains as useful as ever, and Rambler (voice typing for brain dumps you can send to people and make them make sense) is perfect for long conversations. There’s even Live Translations for sign language. So many of these features are exclusive to Pixel, which not only gives it an edge over the competition, but proves that AI isn’t always a gimmick to sell more phones.

🔋 All-day battery life with a catch. Google has once again shipped a folding phone that can easily last a full day, which is great. But here’s the thing: the battery inside the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is technically smaller than the one in the 10 Pro Fold, and side by side, you notice the difference. The 10 Pro Fold could last a full day and into the next morning, whereas the 11 Pro Fold will die before then. Depending on how much you use the bigger screen, your phone could die before you’re ready to call it a night. While it will still last all day long, you won’t get any extra endurance like you did last year.

⚡️ Same charging speed, but at least we get Pixelsnap. The 30W charging on the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is disappointingly slow, if only because the Pixel 11 Pro XL and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra get faster 45W charging. It isn’t begrudgingly slow, but something faster than 30W in 2026 would be appreciated. At the very least, we get Pixelsnap with Qi2.2 25W wireless charging. Not only is it speedy for wireless charging, but the fact Google continues to integrate magnets into the design of the Pixel is something we’ll never take for granted.

🚀 Great performance and multitasking. The Tensor G6 inside the Pixel 11 Pro Fold has proven once again that Google can make a great chip. Is it as powerful as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 that a lot of other Android phones use? Not quite, but it’s still capable of reliably fast performance for general tasks, multitasking, and gaming. It’s also well-equipped to handle all of Gemini Intelligence, given Google’s extensive work on the neural processor. Paired with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, the 11 Pro Fold has plenty of power for years to come.

🔥 It still gets a little hot. One thing that continues to be an issue for Google’s folding phones is heat management. While yes, the summer months will keep your gadgets warmer than normal, and that could be the reason the Pixel 11 Pro Fold gets hot when I’m using it. But every foldable from Google I’ve reviewed has gotten warmer than the other phones in its lineup, likely due to the thinner design and less room for thermals to operate. It doesn’t happen all the time, but if you have the screen brightness cranked up and run a few apps at the same time, you’ll start noticing the back of the phone heating up.

🔊 Loud stereo speakers. Jamming out to my playlist in the shower sounds great thanks to the Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s stereo speakers. There’s one on either side of the phone when it’s open and one on the top and bottom when it’s closed, and they’re surprisingly full and loud. The bass isn’t quite as powerful as I’d like, but you won’t be disappointed here.

💰 The price should scare Samsung. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s starting price of $1,899 puts it in a weird position, and no matter how you look at it, it seems like a better deal than what Samsung will sell you. Pay the same amount of money and you get the Fold 8, which is smaller with one less rear camera. Pay $200 more and you get the Fold 8 Ultra, which looks and acts like a Pixel Fold but doesn’t have the same Gemini Intelligence features or camera quality.

💥 Best bang for your buck. Raising prices is always a negative for the end consumer, but that almost doesn’t matter in the case of the Pixel. Google’s foldable is positioned to beat both of Samsung’s foldables no matter how you swing it, so if you want the foldable with the best all-around experience for the least amount of money, you’ll want the Pixel.

One of the surprise announcements during Sony’s most recent State of Play showcase was the PlayStation Pulse Elevate wireless speakers. The speakers are the newest addition to Sony’s ever-expanding lineup of PlayStation audio products, and hopefully they sound as good as they look.

The Pulse Elevate wireless speakers are armed with planar magnetic drivers and PlayStation Link that lets you use them on PS5, PC or Mac desktop. You can even use them with a PlayStation Portal remote player or smartphone.

Sony says the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers will offer “exceptionally lifelike audio, ultra-low latency and lossless PlayStation Link wireless connectivity”. We’ve rounded up everything you need to know about the PlayStation Pulse Elevate wireless speakers, including the price, pre-order and release date.

PlayStation Pulse Elevate wireless speakers: features

The Pulse Elevate wireless speakers are packed with cutting-edge technology. The speakers support Sony’s Tempest 3D Audio in PS5 games, and feature built-in woofers that deliver rich bass tones for a full soundscape.

There’s also a mic with AI-enhanced noise rejection inside the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers. It removes unwanted background noise, and should let you communicate clearly without needing a headset.

You can tilt the speakers back to create your ideal audio experience, and there’s the option to adjust EQ, sidetone, volume and mic mute settings directly via system menus.

The speakers have a built-in rechargeable battery, which lets you take them on the go, though we’ll have to wait to see how long the batteries last. The included charging docks make it easy to jump back into your desktop gaming setup.

PlayStation Pulse Elevate wireless speakers: potential price

Sony has finally shared the price of Pulse Elevate wireless speakers. They cost $219.99, which is a little less than we predicted.

Sony recently released the Pulse Elite wireless headset and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds. The Pulse Elite cost $149.99, while the Pulse Explore wireless earbuds were more expensive at $199.99. It means the Pulse Elevate cost more than Sony’s over-ear or in-ear audio products.

Google has announced an in-person showcase for its upcoming Googlebook that’s taking place next month.

As per Android Central, the event is taking place in New York City on September 15, 2026, and will include a keynote from Google’s leadership talking about Googlebook’s software, Gemini features and native Android codebase powering the laptops – this comes from a recent invite that Chrome Unboxed received.

There will also be hands-on stations from Google’s OEM partners, suggesting an actual look at Googlebook hardware from the likes of Lenovo, HP, Asus, and others.

This is the most we’ve heard about the Googlebook at any point from Google, as it has remained quiet on the upcoming range of devices at other recent events.

For reference, it didn’t say much at the recent Google Pixel 11 launch, only confirming that we’d hear more about the new devices in the fall alongside hardware partners.

We first heard about Googlebook at the Android Show earlier this year – the same place where it announced Android 17 – where it confirmed that the laptops are being built from the ground up for Gemini Intelligence.

At the time, Google also showcased some intriguing features, such as the ability to create your own widgets with Gemini, Magic Pointer and deeper integration with Android phones.

We’ve seen some early leaks that have given an early look at what we might be able to expect from Googlebook, with specific Lenovo devices.

The new laptops are set to feature Google’s HiLight LED bar, the same glowing design piece we’ve seen previously on the new Google Home Speaker and the Pixel 11 Pro lineup.

A week or so ahead of the Netflix reveal of GTA 6, some more early footage of the hotly anticipated title has emerged online.

The two clips were first spotted on the gaming forum ResetEra (thanks, PC Gamer), with a group or individual named “Cyberleek” claiming responsibility for them.

At the time of PC Gamer’s original article, the first clip already had more than 100,000 views, although Rockstar appears to be scrambling to take them down, as they aren’t available to view in a multitude of places. You won’t be able to view them here either.

In the first clip, we see protagonist Jason Duval in an ocean-side house – presumably the same as seen in one of the game’s trailers. He jumps over the deck and onto the driveway, where he picks up a basketball and shoots some hoops.

It reveals some interesting mechanics, as when Jason makes a basket, he increases his “Focus” by 2%. We also see two cash totals listed in the HUD. If this is like GTA Online, that’ll be one for banked cash and another for on-hand cash.

A second clip was posted an hour later, which shows the player driving around in a broken car, crashing into a delivery truck, and then attacking the driver.

The user “Cyberleek” has also purportedly published some screenshots of the in-game map, although from reports we’ve seen, the art looks too simplistic for it to be actual in-game shots.

Below one image is a message from “Cyberleek”, claiming that the leaks are motivated by Rockstar’s decision not to release GTA 6 in a proper physical version.

The game is available physically, although it’s nothing more than a “code in a box”, which has caused uproar among certain fans – even if reports claim Rockstar hasn’t sold many of the physical version in any guise.

This supposed leak comes just a week before the GTA 6 Extended Look, Rockstar’s proper gameplay reveal that’s going live on August 27, exclusively on Netflix for the first six hours, and will then appear on Rockstar’s YouTube channel.

It has been rumored that the Extended Look is going to be three episodes long but that has since been debunked.

Samsung could be set to ditch a camera on the Galaxy S27 Ultra due to rising costs.

That’s according to a new report from ETNews in South Korea (machine translated into English), which states that “Samsung Electronics will equip all models of the Galaxy S27 series, scheduled for release next year, with three rear cameras. The Ultra model, which previously featured four cameras, will see its camera count reduced by one.”

The Galaxy S27 Ultra is set to ditch the 10MP 3x telephoto zoom lens, but retain the 50MP 5x periscope lens, and a new Galaxy S27 Pro will feature a 12MP 3x telephoto zoom.

The S27 Pro is also set to have a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide and a 12MP 3x telephoto lens, while the S27 Ultra is set for a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP “5x zoom folded camera”, presumably meaning a periscope lens.

The reason cited is that it’s a “strategic response to the surge in semiconductor and component prices” and an attempt to “stabilize the pricing of the Galaxy S27 series by reducing the number of components in the best-selling Ultra model”.

The plan to cut costs in the camera department is designed as a way of offsetting the rising costs elsewhere to at least keep the price of the devices somewhat sensible against their current costs.

Previous reports have claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro will closely resemble the Ultra model, but with a smaller 6.47-inch OLED screen and no S Pen stylus.

Of all the lenses in Samsung’s camera setup, the 3x telephoto is perhaps the one that’s the longest in the tooth, especially with the advancements we’ve seen in virtual or digital zoom from cropping into the 200MP main sensor found on Ultra phones.

Of course, this is a rumor, and it simply cites “industry sources”, so do take it with a pinch of salt. However, leaker Ice Universe, who has been correct in predicting colors for recent Samsung devices, is echoing the report here – we won’t officially know until next year.

We might have just got our first look at Apple’s rumored AirPods that have cameras thanks to a video inside the newest macOS beta.

As per MacRumors, the short video clip was found in the macOS Tahoe 26.7 Release Candidate and shows a man wearing the new AirPods holding up a book with the cover displayed so Apple’s Visual Intelligence can see the book title.

A Siri-voice-over plays over the video, stating that “with Visual Intelligence, your world becomes saveable. See something you like? Just ask me to save it for later.”

Reliable Apple tipster Mark Gurman for Bloomberg has reported on these AirPods before, and stated that the cameras are designed to take in “visual information in low resolution” for Apple’s AI features, such as for Siri answering questions about a wearer’s surroundings or something they hold up to the camera.

The AirPods in the clip look like a thicker version of the AirPods Pro 3, with longer stems to accommodate the cameras. Gurman also thought they would come with LED lights, but they aren’t visible from the angle seen in the video.

We’d received news that Apple is exploring new wearable product categories some time ago, including an AI-powered pendant and smart glasses, although it seems like the camera-equipped AirPods will see the light of day first.

Gurman had also reported that Apple’s smart glasses are reportedly coming in multiple styles as a rival device to the Meta Ray-Bans and the upcoming range of Android XR glasses from Google and partner firms such as Samsung.

Until then, though, it seems like the camera-equipped AirPods may be coming very soon – if demo videos are already being spotted in Apple OS betas, they may launch alongside long-awaited upgraded version of Siri, which is expected to arrive in September together with the next generation of iPhones.

We’re seeing more titles get 120fps support on PS5, including many of Sony’s first-party games like Horizon Forbidden West, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, God of War Ragnarok, Gran Turismo 7, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Don’t forget to head into each game’s settings to see whether it has a high frame rate mode, as it may not be on by default. You’ll also need to enable 120Hz in the PS5’s system settings, which we’ll explain how to do below.

Not every game on this list will hit a locked 120fps, but they all support 120Hz, meaning you can get higher frame rates than 60fps or 30fps. The PS5’s recent VRR support has allowed several developers to use the PS5’s 120Hz output to offer unlocked 60fps mode in games like The Last of Us Part 1 and Horizon Forbidden West so that you can enjoy more responsive and smoother gameplay. How do I play PS5 games at 120fps?

To play at 120fps, you’ll need a TV or monitor with a 120Hz panel. HDMI 2.1 is required for 4K at 120Hz, although many HDMI 2.0 displays can output 120Hz at 1080p or 1440p. The easiest way to see if your display supports high frame rates is to head to the PS5’s settings and then click on ‘Screen and Video’. From the ‘Video Output’ submenu, scroll down to ‘Enable 120Hz Output’. If you can’t turn this feature on, then your display isn’t capable of playing games at 120fps on PS5. You’ll also need to enable VRR for games that support 40fps modes or unlocked frame rates.

What’s the difference between 120fps and 120Hz? 🤔

The two terms are used interchangeably, but there are a few important things to note. Hertz (Hz) refers to the number of times a display refreshes per second, while frames per second (fps) is the number of individual images generated by a console or a PC. A game may support 120fps, but if you don’t have a 120Hz capable display, you won’t be able to experience it. Similarly, if you’re playing a 60fps game on a 120Hz display, you won’t be able to hit 120fps unless the game supports it.

Are there any downsides to playing PS5 games at 120fps? 🤷‍♂️

To ensure that a game can hit frame rates as high as 120fps, developers will often lower the resolution of PS5 games. That means some titles will target a resolution of 1440p or 1080p, resulting in a loss of picture clarity. Some graphical features are also reduced, such as shadow quality, foliage density and draw distance.

However, the smoothness that 120fps provides can often make up for the drop in resolution, and in online multiplayer games, a faster frame rate can make all the difference to your kill/death ratio. You’re also less likely to be focused on minor graphical details to care about the decrease in fidelity when playing a fast-paced shooter or racing game.

Could we see fewer 120fps PS5 games in the future? 🫣

There’s been a recent trend where PS5-only games like A Plague Tale: Requiem and Gotham Knights failed to offer a 60fps mode at launch, let alone a 120fps option. However, A Plague Tale: Requiem has since received a patch that lets it exceed 60fps at the cost of resolution.

We’ve seen a lot of cross-gen games in the three years the PS5 has been out, and some commentators have suggested that current-gen games will opt for more graphically demanding features in the future like ray tracing instead of aiming for higher frame rates. I always prefer a smoother frame rate over more graphical fidelity, and thankfully 30fps-only titles are a rarity. Sony’s more powerful PS5 Pro also helps circumvent this problem. Most of Sony’s first-party games also offer an unlocked 60fps or 40Hz mode instead of truly aiming for the heady heights of 120fps, but hopefully, the list of 120fps PS5 games will continue to grow in the future.

A brand new, unreleased Google wearable has been spotted in Pixel 11 ads, and we’re a little confused as to what it might be.

As someone on the r/Pixel_Phones subreddit has noticed (thanks, Trusted Reviews), Google is promoting the new Pixel 11 via YouTube box ads, and in the photo is the phone itself alongside the Pixel Watch 5, and other Pixel products, plus this mystery wearable.

It has a screen, unlike the Fitbit Air, although it isn’t a circular screen like the Google Pixel Watch 5 or a square screen on the Fitbit Versa 4.

It’s more of an oblong-shaped face showing a Pixel Watch-style face with time, heart rate, steps, and an activity in progress, with the strap being the width of the Pixel Watch Active band, as Droid Life has noted.

A possibility is that Google is preparing to launch a new Fitbit Charge successor. With the last Fitbit Charge, the Charge 6, having launched some three years ago, it seems ripe for a refresh.

This seems to be what the Reddit hive mind thinks it could be, or some form of Pixel A-series smartwatch – either way, it seems like it could be more of a mid-range wearable than a flagship.

If it is a Fitbit Charge 7, for instance, then it could occupy an interesting position in the brand’s lineup. It could sit between the screenless Fitbit Air and the rich Pixel Watch 5 flagship, giving users access to a more traditional fitness tracker with a screen without the need for a fully fledged smartwatch.

Whether we hear more information about this mystery wearable is anyone’s guess, but it looks like Google could be gearing up for yet another product release.

As per an article in the Wall Street Journal, Sony’s CEO, Hiroki Totoki, has stated that Sony hasn’t fixed a date for the launch of the console.

The article goes on to note that Sony’s “Shares are down about 2.5% over the past year, reflecting rising costs for essentials such as memory chips that are affecting the broader entertainment and gaming industry.”

This, in turn, has “affected the rollout of the PS6”, as per WSJ, and the expectations of a release next year “have drifted further out because of the global shortage of key components caused by the ravenous demand from AI.”.

It has been previously rumored that Sony was targeting 2027 for the PS6 release date, and that its launch plans reportedly haven’t changed.

However, this latest news is more official acknowledgement that Sony doesn’t know when the PS6 is going to launch, or how much the console is going to cost owing to the current memory situation.

This latest news compounds the feeling that the PS6 may not arrive until 2028 at the earliest, even though the console has been “top of mind” in recent months for the manufacturer.

If the PS6 does arrive in 2028, then it would be more in line with when we expect to see Microsoft’s Project Helix arrive. Microsoft confirmed in March that alpha dev kits for Project Helix should be rolling out next year, which could point to a release in 2028 or 2029 at the latest for the PlayStation 6 rival.

Rumors have indicated that the PS6 could be a versatile console with an accompanying handheld with a large amount of memory and have the ability to play discs as well as digital games.

However, the ongoing memory crisis and the recent bombshell that the brand is discontinuing physical game disc production for all new PlayStation titles starting January 2028 would lend credence to disputing those rumors. It seems like all we can do is wait and see what happens.

A new report from ETNews says that Samsung is adding a second wide-format foldable to the Galaxy Z9 series next year. The new phone will be designed to attract even more first-time foldable users like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is doing now, while offering customers something different compared to the regular version. It comes as the Fold 8 experiences record-breaking sales for the company.

The report says that the new phone will be even better optimized for watching video than the regular Fold 9, which will likely carry a similar design to the Fold 8. It’s not clear which aspect ratio it’ll settle on, but it’ll likely be different than the 4:3 aspect ratio of the Fold 8.

Watching videos on the Fold 8 is already a massive improvement over the square design of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Samsung’s foldables have always proved to be useful thanks to their bigger displays, but none have matched the entertainment consumption of the regular Fold 8 with its shorter, wider form factor. It makes the black bars at the top and bottom of your videos smaller, while increasing the size of the video itself.

It’s the same design we expect Apple to adopt with the iPhone Fold, which is slated to arrive sometime next month. It makes sense to see Samsung leaning into this design language more for its folding phones, which haven’t gotten this much positive press from journalists and consumers alike in a long time.

Meanwhile, ETNews also claims Samsung is readying three additional folding phones for 2027: a new Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Flip 9, and a second generation of its short-winded Galaxy Z TriFold. We don’t have much information on any of these devices, but over the next 6-9 months, we expect to learn more as new details begin to emerge.
